Garance is a song writer and accordionist from rural southern france.
Her band "The Mitochondries" are a rag tag ensemble of gifted rougues she aquired from the street corners of London.
Together they make a very beautiful,quirky and rickety musical family. They mix destroyed dynamics and unexpected
changes with traditional folkloric styles...You could call it a kind of "dirty tango, rock n roll, post-musette, tramp jazz,
progressive gypsy..." Or give up on generic descriptions and just experience the band and their music!
Garance e’ una cantautrice e fisarmonicista proveniente dalle campagne del sud della Francia’ la sua band "The Mitochondrie" e’ un ensemble rag tag di talentuosi vagabondi raccolti per le vie di Londra. Insieme formano una bella famiglia di musicisti, eccentrica e sgangherata. Mescolano agli stili folcloristici tradizionali nuove dinamiche e varianti inaspettate…potete definirli degli zingari progressive, dirty tango, rock n roll, post-musette, tramp jazz oppure …..rinunciate ad ogni definizione e ascoltate semplicemente la band e la loro musica!

Dotato di un timbro di voce immediatamente riconoscibile Theo si e’ rapidamente costruito una folta schiera di fan, amanti delle sue bellissime canzoni e della sua band Bard. Ció grazie alla partecipazione alle serate del Woodburner, che Theo ha definito migliore appuntamento fisso folk dell’ East London.

David9 Lunas
In October 1994 David 9 stepped up to sing on the Legalise It EP and instantly we understood, almost subconsciously, that he was a contemporary punk-folk-blues artist. From his voice you could hear the influence from James Brown to David Bowie.
Playing in London from four years old, this Anglo-Trinidadian has been mesmerising crowds up and down the country for a while now. Usually solo but sometimes with a kick-arse rhythm section, David 9 eventually moved over a quarter million sales with the full album “Pigs” in the summer of 1995.
Even in 1990, David 9 was no stranger to success, having had a ‘Number One’ in Ireland with his then band,No Sweat, as their lead guitar player/song writer. He recorded and toured extensively in the US and the UK on the back of the No Sweat album recorded by Master Producer, Keith Olsen (producer of White Snake, Tom Petty and Fleetwood Mac amongst others).
David 9 wanted to reinvent himself at this point.
After the release of Mushroom Tea, which entered the British charts at 55, the band split, and his solo acoustic career began, culminating in an MTV Music interview and acoustic performance, after which David 9 was taken under the wing by London’s major music magazine, Kerrange.
Signed to Warner Chapel Music Publishing in partnership London Records Label, David 9 designed a more direct approach to accommodate his punk-folk vision and started afresh.
Waiting until he’s out of contract, he has been honing his craft, playing, writing and gathering material to reflect a new birth in his songs. In 2013 David 9 will be delivering his first solo album, Rain Water and Wine, scheduled to be released in November 2013 on the back of his first Tour as a reborn musical maverick.
Nell’ottobre 1994 la voce di David 9 compare per la prima volta nell’EP Legalise It, e subito sono evidenti le sue qualità di artista punk-folk-blues. Nel 2013 David 9 pubblichera’ il suo primo álbum da solista , Rain Water and Wine, la cui uscita e’ prevista per novembre 2013 seguito dal primo tour nella rinnovata veste musicale di artista indipendente.
Adam Beattie & the Consultants
The Consultants are a shifting group of musicians focused around band-leader and song writer Adam Beattie, whose distinctive voice ties together their eclectic mix of 'folk stews and dirty blues'. They are based in London where they perform varied, emotional shows, verging sometimes on the theatrical. Their most recent self-release is an EP entitled 'Songs of One Hundred Years'. The title track 'A song of One Hundred Years' is a ballad written for Adam's grandfather who lived to be one hundred.

I Consultants sono un gruppo di musicisti intercambiabili che hanno il loro fulcro nel cantautore e leader Adam Beattie, la cui voce particolarissima cementa l’eclettico connubio di ‘miscela folk e dirty blues’. La band ha sede a Londra dove si esibisce in una varieta’ di spettacoli emozionanti a volte quasi teatrali. Il loro ultimo album s’intitola'Songs of OneHundredYears'. Il brano 'A song of OneHundredYears', contenuto nell’album, è una ballata scritta per il nonno di Adam vissuto fino a cento anni di eta’.
Brooke Sharkey
Brooke was brought up in London then spent her teenage years in France. On return to England, her father, a working musician himself, gave Brooke the best piece of advice she’s ever had..which was go out on the street and start busking the first few songs she’d written.
From that day Brooke has busked around Europe and Central America, played gigs in Moscow and New York, toured Germany and France gathering a loyal fanbase that helped her fund this debut album in online pre-sales. Brooke has been touring her album in the uk this May and will be heading to France and Italy this summer for ore concerts.
‘The perfect balance between fiery female singer and delicate, angelic songstress’ Brooke Sharkey’s songs grow ever more diverse as she jumps from Chanson to English folk and even gypsy frenzy .

Mojo Hand
Mojo Hand are a fiery musical troupe stomping out Country Blues from the Deep South on the cobbled streets of London. Formed in 2011 they've spent the last year busking around Europe, playing on boats, in vintage shops, at festivals, in theatres and all manner of venues in between, tightening their sound and building a small but loyal fanbase. They recently recorded their forthcoming EP 'O Lady, a Shink of Rum on a Ship of Ragged Sail' in Cologne, Germany.
The three-piece features Graham Farnworth on National Resophonic guitar, with fast rhythmic fingerpicking influenced by old Delta Blues players such as Lightnin’ Hopkins and Big Bill Broonzy. Rob Rider Hill plays the 5-string Banjo, bringing into the mix a blend of Old-Time, Bluegrass and Early Jazz styles, while holding down the rhythm on the Double Bass is Rebekah Robertson. The group sing a communal, soulful howling, breathing new life into pre-war American traditional tunes and reinterpreting the genre in their original material.

Dakota Jim Band
Dakota Jim Band are a virtuosic rag-tag ensemble whose musical style carries a strong rhythmic groove heralding from the 1930s Swing Era. The melodies are sung with a deep and crackled American husk by Dakota Jim; an intriguing and charmingly eccentric character on stage. Dakota Jim plays his favourite songs written and collected from his life of being a carpenter, fisherman and jazz double bass player. He has played with Tuba Fats from new-Orleans and toured across Europe with the Pasadena Roof Orchestra before settling in London.

Ríoghnach Connolly and Ellis Davies reputation has been growing over a number of years, thanks in no small part to the part they play in Manchester's Honeyfeet. Add to this their work on Connolly's Black Lung, a 16-strong jazz-folk band, and Beware Soul Brother, trio with tabla maestro Mendi Singh which recently toured Brazil, and you know that this reputation in well founded.
As a duo, the Ríoghnach and Ellis play pared back versions of Honeyfeet and Beware Soul Brother songs, as well as incorporating and reinventing numerous Irish folk influences. Ríoghnach's whisky and honey vocals entwine with Davies' rhythm-and-bass guitar playing to give you a rich, intriguing sound.
Of Connolly, Citylife says “Seldom has conspicuous greatness been more accessible.”
Folk Radio UK recently reviewed their “The Centre Cannot Hold” EP and said of it: “You’re used to hearing jazz and folk mingle but this is full on and some of the best I’ve heard, dark, smooth and god damn moody…you can’t touch it!
Good Biscuits are Leonie Evans & Ben Sayer. They're a duo that mix blues/folk/jazz and other styles that takes you back to a time long passed. Between them the play guitar,banjo,washboard,other miscellaneous percussion and both sing (also vocal trumpet/theramin) both have been playing with various projects all over England and other parts of the world for years building a reputation and this new direction is simple yet honest,bold and diverse.

Hanno partecipato per anni a vari progetti in Inghilterra ed in altre parti del mondo costruendosi cosí la loro reputazione. Questa nuova direzione spontaneamente intrapresa e’ autentica audace e variegata.
